Video Tutorials for Teaching CLAVES

If you are a teacher planning to implement CLAVES in your classroom, this is the page where you can get all the introductory information you need to understand the origins of CLAVES and to orient yourself to CLAVES goals and approaches. You can also watch the unit overview videos to get a sense of exactly what content is covered in each CLAVES unit.

You have four video hosts. Dr. Patrick Proctor is a literacy professor at Boston College and one of the co-creators of CLAVES. Dr. Annie Kuo is the Stanford University project director for CLAVES initiatives. Jackelyn Rivera-Orellana is a former Newark, NJ and Los Angeles public school teacher and literacy specialist, and a Stanford University doctoral student. Brenda Luo is a former New York City teacher and a Boston College doctoral student.

You do not need to watch all of these videos to be prepared to teach CLAVES. Feel free to pick and choose so that you are getting your questions answered and feel as prepared as you need. Good luck teaching CLAVES!  We would love to hear about your experiences with CLAVES in your classroom. Please email us at clavescurriculum@gmail.com
